Concrete volume, bags and cost in one place

A concrete pour comes down to volume — slab area × thickness, footing and pile sizes, post-hole diameters — plus an allowance for waste and over-dig. Convert that to cubic metres and you can decide between bagged mix and ready-mix, and work out the reinforcing mesh (SE62 is the common residential slab mesh) and starter bars.

Toolie does the volume and the reinforcing as part of the take-off, then prices the concrete, mesh, boxing and labour off a real NZ pricebook with regional rates — so the slab line in your quote is defensible, not a guess on the back of a dwang.

It’s part of the quote, not a separate tool

In Toolie this isn’t a one-off calculator — it feeds the actual priced quote and the build programme. Describe the job or drop in a PDF plan and Toolie runs the take-off, applies NZ site intelligence and prices it off a real NZ pricebook.

Common questions

How do I calculate concrete volume?

Multiply slab area by thickness, and add footing, pile and post-hole volumes, plus a waste allowance. Toolie does this in cubic metres and converts it to a bag or ready-mix count.

Does it include reinforcing mesh?

Yes - the take-off includes mesh (SE62 is the common residential slab mesh) and starter bars to NZS 3604, not just the concrete volume.

Does it price the pour?

Yes - Toolie prices the concrete, mesh, boxing and labour off a real NZ pricebook with regional rates, as part of the quote.
